During all the history people of different cultures considered cats to be magical creatures that have supernatural abilities. In medieval times they were executed by inquisition and considered to be the companions of witches as well as the incarnation of a devil. In ancient times especially in Egypt they were considered to be the saint animals and were protected by law.
Nowadays the attitude to cats can be different. The domestication made them favourite pets. But there are a lot of traditions and beliefs about cats connected with the magical abilities they may have till now.
There are a lot of stories about magical abilities of cats. But many of these stories have real background.
A cat never goes at a distance more than 600-800 meters from the place it lives. If it doesn't have some particular sympathy to the person, it gets addicted to the house it lives in and to its hunting territory. If to take such cat away from the house and leave it far away, it can walk 1000 kilometers and even more to get home.
There are a lot of stories when a cat gets over a long distance to get to their houses and to their territories. Somehow they feel the right direction and know where to go to get home. Scientists say that cats are able to feel the changes of magnetic field of the earth and this helps them to find the way home. This theory was proved when the special magnetic collar was put on them and cats simply lost their navigating abilities.
During thousands of years we hear different stories about the ability of a cat to predict earthquakes. According to researches cats like all other animals can feel the electrostatic changes in the atmosphere that accompany every earthquake.
There are also some facts that prove that cats have telepathy. Even in Ancient Egypt people talked about the ability of a cat to hear thoughts of people. That is why sometimes people felt uncomfortable in the presence of a cat.
Cats can also feel the mood of the people who live with them. It can tell your emotional situation and help you. They feel the coming of a person before he/she comes and can even cure a person. According to beliefs cats feel the bad energetic zones and always lie down on them to cure them.
But till now scientists can't say exactly about this or that supernatural ability of cats. And it is up to every person to believe in these stories or not. But they also can be tested in reality in every-day life.
