Cat's sounds.
A cat is the most popular pet nowadays. Only dogs can compete with it in popularity. There are a lot of interesting facts about the life of a cat. One of the mysteries is the way they communicate with each other and with the world.
The cat is the only animal that is able to purr. It can do that thanks to a big number of narrow bones that are located from the tongue to the skull. All cats can purr non-stop. They don't stop breathing during the purring.
Till now scientists don't know why cats need this ability. Besides, big cats don't have this ability but they can growl. The sound of lion's roaring can get to the volume 114 dB.
The purring of the cat not always means that it enjoys itself. Some cats purr loudly when they are offended or scared of something.
Sometimes purring can even be the language of communication between cats and people. Cats can produce sounds different on duration, pitch of sound and of a tone. That is why a keeper of a cat should pay attention to the sounds the cat makes because with the help of them a person can distinguish the desires of a cat. The faster a person learns the sounds of a cat, faster the cat begins to trust the person and starts to trust people it lives with.
The voice and sounds the cat produces can ask pitifully and demand.
Short mewing means that a cat said "Hello" to you or it can also mean the desire to make a contact if it is a strange cat.
If the cat's mewing is "squeezed" or it makes inner deep sounds then it may mean that a cat is offended or in a bad mood or something disturbs it. But such sound may also mean that a cat is simply hungry.
If the pitiful sound that means a petition or displeasure doesn't stop and turns into the scream then a cat needs help and it asks for it.
A scare mixed with anger provokes the intensive tones.
To my mind everybody has heard the scream of fighting cats that are very loud and intensive. Mewing can be also a signal to the opposite sex. Sometimes cats start to mew to attract attention of the opposite sex.
Cats –mothers purr to their kittens, cats also purr from pleasure and excitement, they also purr when they are about to fall asleep, and as a thankful reaction to the person.
If a cat feels that something is done personally for it, a tasty dinner for example, then it will purr with particular pleasure that also means impatience and joy.
Ill and dying cats also purr, according to some scientists they purr as a relief in the moments when they don't feel paint.
According to some researches a cat can even pronounce 7 consonants.
According to some researches a cat's mewing or purring can also calm a person down and make a positive and curing impact on the psyche of a person.
Any way a cat wants to tell something with its sounds. It wants to express its emotions and feelings.
