There are a lot of cats that live with families in cities and towns. There are a lot of cases when a single woman or a man buys a cat to make their life less lonely and more interesting and funny. The average cat lives 12 years, but sometimes it can live 20 years and even more. During this period of time the family becomes larger, new members appear as well as new pets and in 35% of cases even new cats.
That is why when a cat dies it becomes a real tragedy for the person, because he looses the best friend and the house guarder. People care about them the whole life that is why when cats get lost or run away from the house or just die it is very difficult to restore from it.
When someone is at home a cat has access to all places, to all objects, of course, obeying some rules. It can give you compassion and understanding you need simply lying next to you on the sofa. It gives special signs for its keeper when it likes or dislikes something.
There are a lot of children who beg their parents to buy a cat or a kitten, because children feel special need in the communication with animals and nature. A cat teaches responsibility your child and brings positive emotions to it. A cat can calm a child down, make his nervous system more stable because according to scientists its purring has a sedative effect on the psyche of a child and in general on the human.
Besides, it was also discovered that children who have pets are more communicative and have better relationships with parents and friends. They are also more creative. A cat can make better the relationships between two brothers. It reduces the number of fights and conflicts between them.
A cat is one of the ways to fight with depression. If a person has a bad mood and is fed up of problems and doesn't want to live anymore, the cat is the pet that can save this person. By playing and purring it may provide a good mood to the person and give the time to think over all the problems and as a result to find the way out.
But cats can also bring some problems to the house. The most frequent are those which are connected with taking care of the pet. Especially such problem appears between parents and children.
Besides, a cat is always a potential danger because it may extend some diseases that may pass to the person and cause some serious problems with health. Another problem that appears is cat allergy from which a lot of people suffer. Of course there are a lot of recommendations and rules that help you to keep fit but still allergy causes many uncomfortable situations and makes you be very attentive with the pet.
Another problem is the disorder that cats provoke. Due to their active way of life, cats like to run about the house. The result is the total mess in the room and tones of its hair on the carpets, curtains, clothes and pillows.
A cat can also damage your furniture, because it likes to keep its claws fit by scratching the couches especially made of leather. Even if the pet has special equipment for it, still the furniture will suffer.
Another problem is that cats have their own temper that sometimes may be aggressive and their behavior become unpredictable. As a result it may hurt a person and even a child.
But all these negative features don't play an important role when you see your child happy playing and taking care of his favorite pet, or when you sit in the comfortable armchair with your cat. It is also a good company for you when you are left alone in the house and all your family and friends are absent.
